Boise State and football coach Chris Petersen had agreed to a new five-year contract that will pay at least $ 2 million per year.
The State Board of education will consider an increase in salary of $ 375,000 for a special meeting Wednesday. The entire contract to be submitted for approval at a meeting February 15-16.
The information provided to the Council of State by Boise State University to negotiate the contract stated that the new “after this past season” and that it will include a “compensation package base of $ 2 million in the first year.”
Petersen is scheduled to make $ 1,625 million in 2012 under current contract, which was announced at the 2010 Fiesta Bowl and upgraded in October 2011.
