WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Governor Rick Perry came in fifth in the Iowa Caucus destroyed Tuesday and said he will return to Texas to see if there is a way forward for the presidential campaign.

Perry had previously said he planned to head to South Carolina in hopes of finding Earth-friendly.

It was the first loss for Perry in almost 30 years in public life. He was first elected to the Texas House in 1984 as a Democrat, then rose rapidly through the ranks of State’s Office after becoming the Republican, won the Office of agriculture, Lieutenant Governor and Governor. He first ascended to the Governor after George w. Bush became President.
